THE HOPE FORMULA

–

despair is more prevalent than hope

discouragement more than encouragement

oh we of little faith

let us talk to Him to give us hope

–

despair is only a feeling

inner strength can remove it

prayer and faith can make it vanish

ask Jesus for the grace of hope

–

despair is the most terrible tragedy

that can happen to anyone

to replace it with hope

is the most awesome relief

–

the hope formula begins with

total surrender to His will

once you have done that

despair will fade away

–

remember always His words

a rich man approached a beggar

asking what the beggar can give him

the beggar gave him

the few coins he had

–

then the beggar realized

the rich man was Jesus

everyone must give including beggars

BIBLE LESSON

–

God was angry because israel

embraced the god baal of the midianites

as a consequence the midianites

held them in bondage

–

God sent an emissary to gideon

whose brothers the midianites killed

telling him that he would

defeat the midianites in battle

–

God ordered gideon to replace

the altar for baal owned by his father joash

with one for Jehovah

and offered a sacrifice there

–

the angry Israelites wanted to kill him

joash said ‘if baal is truly a god

let him avenge himself’

and so gideon was spared

–

gideon assembled an army of 32,000

God said they were too many

they will only attribute their victory

to their own strength, not to their God

–

gideon trimmed the army to 300

and attacked the midianites

at night using trumpets and torches

to sow fear and panic

–

in the confusion

the midianites fought each other

and gideon’s army prevailed

for the rest of his life, Israel was in peace

–

THE LESSON IS REPEATED MANY TIMES

IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

MANY STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND

THAT WE DRAW STRENGTH FROM GOD

WITH GOD YOU ACHIEVE VICTORY

EVEN IF THE ENEMY OUTNUMBERS YOU

WITHOUT HIM YOU BECOME A SLAVE

EVEN IF YOU ARE STRONG ON YOUR OWN

WITH GOD YOU ACHIEVE THE IMPOSSIBLE

WITHOUT HIM YOU FAIL IN SIMPLE TASKS

RETURN TO THE LORD

AND HE WILL BLESS YOU

DO NOT BE PROUD

ATTRIBUTE YOUR TALENTS

AND STRENGTH TO HIM

WHO IS YOUR LORD AND CREATOR
