REGULATORS VS VIOLATORS

The Endless ‘Traffic War’

 

Sign on a tricycle reads, “GAVE WAY – Titiisin ko lahat, wag lang ang TRAFFIC” (Give way. I will bear anything except traffic). In spite of the wrong grammar, he has a point. The biggest cause of stress for 90% of urban people is the unsolvable traffic, yielding road rage, broken homes, head-on collisions, and nervous breakdowns.

 

The Filipino lives in a vast expanse of thousands of scattered islands, whose total shore line exceeds that of continental USA. As an islander, he has become carefree, freewheeling, and ingenious in improvising. But this also mean no discipline, lack of regard for regulations. He is a natural violator. The violator, driver or pedestrian, is the irresistible force. The regulator, the traffic enforcer, is the immovable object. Together, they lead towards total anarchy and a war without winners.

 

There is a vicious circle that gathers momentum. The more and braver the violations, the more and stricter the regulations. Only in the Philippines do you see 12 traffic aides in a single intersection. Only in the Philippines do you see concrete slabs in five-lane highways constricting rather than easing traffic, if only to exact vengeance on the violators. Only in the Philippines do vehicles veer left in order to turn right. Only in the Philippines does a four-lane highway become seven-lanes during rush hour. Only in the Philippines is the horn used as a weapon against other vehicles. Only in the Philippines do have we grid locks due to street greed.

 

The problem is really CULTURAL. When a Filipino migrates to the US, he becomes instantly disciplined, knowing he is in a different culture. He sheds off his Filipino cultural skin instantly. He honks only to warn, not make war. He does not swerve in the freeways. He is suddenly more patient. He is no longer a violator.

 

If the problem is cultural, the solution must also be cultural. But who are we as a society to change culture. Nobody can change cultural ways instantly. How do we change our traffic culture? There must be a balance between hard regulations and soft education. Cars pools are okay but, if you know the Filipino, he will bring his maid to work to form a car ‘pool’. The regulators have to be as ingenious as the violators. And they should not lose their cool, or else they are the ones to die of heart attack.

 

A true ‘traffic czar’ must not be a political appointee. He must have an iron fist and a gentle heart all at once. He must mix human relations with traffic management strategies. He must consult experts in cultural mind sets of drivers, pedestrians, and traffic enforcers. He must teach the drivers ‘magbigayan’ (yield to others) and the traffic people ‘walang lagay at maging maawin’ (no bribes and be lenient).

The War Between the Woman and the Dragon

between you and the woman

between your offspring and hers.

and you will strike his heel.

The battle between the Woman (Virgin Mary) and Satan has been raging for more than 2,000 years now, the longest war in human history. Fatima exemplifies this war. Satan knows Fatima is the greatest event that will fulfill the prophecy of Genesis 3:15, his defeat. Thus, he is bent on destroying the Fatima messages. 

 

The rise of Anti-Marians began during Martin Luther’s Reformation against the abuses of the Church in the Middle Ages. The Anti-Marians are not really bad people. They just have a different view. Most Protestant sects in the Reformation splinter view prayer to Mother Mary as an ‘abomination’ and ‘idolatry’. If we consider her as God, then it is idolatry. But if she is merely regarded as a Mediatrix, a bridge to God, then there is no idolatry.

 

Under Satan’s orchestration, from 1917, the Fatima messages were attacked from all sides, even by archbishops and cardinals. After 2 decades, Vatican declared the Fatima apparitions as authentic. The Woman has prevailed. Thus, Fatima has endured to this day, giving the same simple message throughout the Old Testament – return to the Lord. 

 

Today, the Anti-Marians, inadvertent instruments of the Dragon, mutilate the messages of the Third Secret. The attacks come from cyberspace. The Third Secret has been diluted and mutilated by subtle inserts that mislead and distract us, whose authors are anonymous. For example, there are no ‘three days of darkness’, no blessed candles in the Third Secret. There are other glaring inserts – the need for an altar with a crucifix, the use of holy water that should be sprinkled on windows and doors.

 

THESE ARE EXTERNAL RITUALS MEANT TO DISTRACT US FROM INTERNAL PRAYER.

 

Another insert gives a warning that “God’s punishment is holy and once it has started, you should not look outside (your window), under any circumstance.” This is meant to scare us to follow ‘rules’ strictly or else. So you focus on rules and not on prayers. 

 

“All the evil spirits will be mingling around, free to do harm.” These are subtle inserts by Satan to deceive Marian devotees. An insert gives preposterous quantitative data – 10 minutes before midnight, a great earthquake will shake the earth for 8 hours, that will move the earth 23 degrees.”

 

The essence of the Third Secret is to bring us closer to Jesus through His Mother, to tell us the urgency of prayers to atone for global sins, which can pre-empt disasters. During a trance witnessed by the author, a Paulinian nun said, “I can no longer hold back the hand of my Son. Pray, pray, pray.” A message from Our Lady of Yvan says, “The war in the Middle East will become serious and will spread throughout the world.” It is not too late to avert a Middle East war through prayers.
