When the four-foot bronze statue of St. Michael the Archangel fell from its pedestal in the garden of the Mother Ignacia Healing Ministry, Sr. Rachel Reodica, RVM, the healing nun, was shocked. Not even a hurricane could topple such a heavy statue. It was a calm night when it fell. She said it was an omen of the intensifying war between Jesus and Satan at all levels, from the individual to the family to the community to the nation to the world, all the more now during the pandemic.

The statue now guards the entrance to the adoration chapel where thousands of healings have occurred. She warns that we have to be vigilant during these days. (Sr. Raquel is retired as a healer due to old age. The healing center in Novaliches is now deserted.)
The war between good and evil is everywhere, and it starts with you. Inside your soul, the war rages – your generosity versus your greed, your love versus your hatred. Whichever wins decides who you are and what your destiny is. Inside your soul, Jesus and Satan are in a tug-of-war over you, which can tear you apart. When that war inside you rages, you have to pray for grace and strength to let good triumph over evil. It is not that easy.
The war on the streets in the U.S. between rosary crusades and satanic cults is one such manifestation. So is the war between pro-abortionists and anti-abortionists, the irreconcilable war between Conservatives and Liberals in the Vatican causing a Church crisis, the war between Cardinals over the Pedophile Epidemic. All these wars may have a relationship to the continued growth of the pandemic.
There is a cave chapel in Bari, home of St. Padre Pio, which was built to commemorate the battle during the Middle Ages between St. Michael the Archangel and Lucifer. When you enter the cave, you feel the sudden cold and walk slowly on the metal floor wet with stalactite drips. I could just imagine what kind of battle that was.
Good and evil permeates our society. Nuclear energy can be used to cure cancer or destroy the world. The Internet is a tool for both truth and falsehood, research data or fake news. A gun protects residents from burglars. It also helps burglars enter the homes of residents. Explosives are used in mining or in killing. Almost anything can be used for good and evil. The instrument itself is neutral. It is Man, the user, who determines the good and evil aspects.
The war between good and evil is the oldest war ever. It started when Satan was tempting Jesus. All through out history, it rages, from the war between the Crusaders and the Saracens to World War II between the Allies and the Axis.
As the world shrinks due to the growth of cyberspace, the gravity of crimes intensifies a hundred- to a million-fold. Cyber wars can be more devastating that a nuclear blast because they are by nature global. The gravity of fake news is its capability to fool hundreds of thousands if not millions in one click of the mouse. Troll armies may not be fully aware of the seriousness of their crimes if they are able to fool people into voting for an evil candidate. They have the destiny of nations in their hands. Yet, it is all for a fistful of silver coins. The pay is not commensurate to the crime. When the privacy of hundreds of millions of Internet users are compromised and sold for billions of dollars, they are the crimes of the century.
The Book of Genesis prophesied the war between the Blessed Virgin and Satan, that would span millennia to this very day. God spoke to Lucifer and told him, “I will put enmity between you and the woman (Our Lady), and between your offspring (Satan) and hers (Jesus). Her offspring shall crush your head, and you will bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15.
