(2) Open Letter to Pope Francis – Restore Mediatrix

SECOND OF 3 MEDIATRIX ARTICLES.

Your Holiness, Pope Francis. This is an open letter in behalf of the millions of Filipino devotees of Our Lady Mediatrix of All Grace appealing for your consideration. I am asking readers to help get Pope Francis to read this, if you have a way of bringing this to him.

Your Holiness, the reply of Our Lady to the Vatican suppressions for 70 long years of the Mediatrix apparitions is – dozens of miracles through the decades. The more the suppressions, the more the miracles, the greater the spread of the devotion. Today, the Mediatrix devotion flourishes and spreads. The Virgin has triumphed over the Vatican. The Vatican has failed to investigate thoroughly these miracles.

Rose Petals, Evidence of Mediatrix Apparitions, Destroyed on Orders of the Vatican.

Your Holiness, the apparitions by the Blessed Virgin in 1948 to Sister Teresing Castillo, a Carmelite novice, which today the Vatican still insists to be a hoax, and not of divine origin, were accompanied by a series of showers of rose petals at the Carmelite convent, particularly during a prayer meeting attended by thousands. This is similar to the miracle of the dancing sun in Fatima, Portugal, also witnessed by thousands, which became the evidence on the authenticity of the Fatima apparitions. In the same way, the rose petals prove the authenticity of the Mediatrix apparitions.

But the Vatican not only ignored the rose petal evidence, but ordered them destroyed, the very proof of the authenticity of the apparitions. Did the Vatican interview witnesses to the rose petal showers? If they did, where are the documents? The Vatican ordered the destruction of vital documents, statues, religious materials, particularly the novena which later healed two women (view their testimonials below), the precious diary of visionary Sr. Teresing, and the rose petals themselves. The Vatican failed to do a proper investigation, ignored testimonials of healings, destroyed the evidence, and insisted that the apparition was a hoax, for reasons explained below.

Ironically, your Holiness, remnants of the Mediatrix novena, which escaped the Vatican order of destruction, had a healing power. The congenital hole on the skull of Ms. Socorro Mendoza mysteriously vanished on the fifth day of the novena, after a rose petal was earlier placed on her skull. The congenital incurable ‘club foot’ (abnormal Achilles tendon inhibiting walking) of Sr. Melanie Sunga, RA (Religious of the Assumption), when she was a baby, mysteriously straightened itself three days after her mother completed the novena. The feet were washed earlier with Holy Water from the Carmelite convent. There have been dozens of other Mediatrix miracles the Vatican CDF does not know about because they have stopped investigating and have made up their minds that the Virgin of Lipa is a hoax. It will take a book to write about these many Mediatrix miracles through the decades, especially the miracle of the dancing sun, witnessed by hundreds during a concelebrated mass in the Mediatrix shrine in Matalam, North Cotabato. It occurred exact to the hour and day of the miracle of the sun in Fatima 100 years ago. Lipa, indeed, is the continuation of Fatima. These witnesses should be investigated by the Vatican.

Vatican Suppression of Lipa Bishops for Decades.

Your Holiness, in 1949, Bishop of Lipa Alfredo Versoza, ever so faithful to the Vatican, was angry over the rumors of miraculous rose petals, which healed the sick. He just did not believe such ‘nonsense’. He visited the Carmelite convent to make sure his order to the Carmelite sisters to deny and suppress the rumors was followed. He was greeted by a shower of rose petals at the doorstep of the Carmeliate church. He fell on his knees, and, like St. Paul, who turned from persecutor to preacher, he instantly believed. Versoza, your Holiness, consequently gave his imprimatur on the Mediatrix novena, which angered the Vatican. He explained that it was for the novena, not for the apparitions. Still, he was transferred to a remote parish somewhere in North Africa, where he had a nervous breakdown. In spite of his exile, Versoza was always faithful to the Church, saying “I believe, but as a Bishop, I am under the Pope. I cannot make the decisions.” For decades, all Bishops of Lipa who believed in the Mediatrix were ‘exiled’ into remote dioceses or forced to resign, forced into silence.

Your Holiness, Cardinal Müller, whom you removed as CDF head, and who leads the anti-Pope movement, was instrumental in the suppression of the Mediatrix. He issued CDF’s controversial Protocol 226/1949, wherein Lipa Archbishops Mariano Gaviola and Ramon Arguelles were exonerated for lifting the ban on Mediatrix veneration. They did so, justifiable under Canon Law, only after Müller and the CDF failed to present documents on the status of the 1951 disapproval of the apparitions. Archbishop Arguelles was forced to resign as Bishop of Lipa.

Why the Vatican insists the Mediatrix is a Hoax.

Your Holiness, the Pius XII decree declaring in 1951 that the Mediatrix was a hoax is now being questioned because it does not appear in Acta Apostolicae Sedis, a requirement for the decree to be binding, according to Canon Law.

Either the Cardinals then did not know this or they kept it a secret. The Vatican declared the Mediatrix apparitions a hoax ‘with finality’ back in 1951 based on a questionable decree. This became the basis of all future suppressions of the Mediatrix for 70 years to this day.

Geopolitical Role of Our Lady Mediatrix in Evangelization of Asia and Conversion of China.

Your Holiness, Sr. Teresing wrote in her second diary, which was not burned, that she was tortured by the devil. She had bruises on her arms. The devil wanted to suppress Sr. Teresing, fearing that the Lady Mediatrix would be the instrument for the future evangelization of Asia, especially the ‘conversion’ of China, conversion not to Christianity but to become benevolent to its neighbors and to stop the persecution and massacre of Christians inside China. The geopolitical role of Our Lady Mediatrix is still not known perhaps by the Vatican to this very day.

Your Holiness, I rest my case as a humble journalist with no background in Canon Law, in behalf of the hundreds of thousands of Filipinos who are forever devoted to the Mediatrix based on the Virgin’s miracles in spite of Vatican repressions. Please investigate these miracles, which are the obvious proof of the Mediatrix apparitions. There are hundreds of witnesses you can interview. We Marian devotees are willing to help facilitate your future investigations, to balance the reports of anti-Mediatrix prelates who may prevent the investigations, intent in following Vatican orders. Even if it takes a decade, we want the truth. We remain loyal to your Holiness in spite of CDF failures and suppressions. This open letter will appear in my column, StarGazer, in the Daily Tribune in a two-part series, so the faithful of the Church are informed.

Finally, as I said, I am asking readers to help get Pope Francis to read this, if you have a way of bringing this to him.
